Mairim Perez

Organizer of our Dancing World Festival. She is Cuban and has lived in Europe since 2001. Professional actress, dancer, choreographer and dance teacher. With more than 15 years of experience and extensive training, since 2007 she has worked as an Oriental Dancer and as a teacher. She has been invited to show her art in different countries around the world such as Spain, Turkey, Poland, Ukraine, Francia, San Vicente, Barbados among others, to dance, give workshops and as a jury. In Portugal, she is the Founder of the Almas Dance Project school and Director of the Mairim Dance Group. It is with great excitement that we present the 4th edition of the Festival!

Safia Diaz

International dancer, teacher and choreographer of Arabic Dances. Graduated from the Najma Dance School and the Arabian Dance School of Master Amir Thaleb. Director of the Safia Dance school and toured Argentina and several countries around the world with her workshops, shows and as a judge. Director of “Ballet Safia” and Organizer of FEIDAC, one of the biggest Arab dance events in Argentina.

Leandro Ferreyra

Argentine dancer, master and choreographer with over 20 years in dance. He is currently a master at the main festivals and a judge at the most recognized competitions in Argentina and the world.

Ahmed Refaat

Ahmed Refaat, artistic director and founder of the Academy of Egyptian Dance Arts, is a folk dancer, master teacher and choreographer with over 35 years of experience. He began his career at the age of 9 in the El Gezira Youth Center Folk Dance Group, where he worked for many years under the guidance of master teacher Mokhtar Mustafa. In 2007, Ahmed was featured in the Reda Group’s anniversary show, in celebration of its founder Mahmoud Reda, which was performed in Alexandria, Rome and Madrid. In the same year, he taught his first class at the Nile Group Festival in Cairo. Over the past 15 years, Ahmed has performed his works at many international oriental dance festivals in Egypt and several other countries in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He founded his Academy of Egyptian Dance and Arts in 2021, with groups in different countries such as Egypt and Hong Kong, to further promote the arts of Egyptian dance.

Cristiane Azem

Master and choreographer with a recognized career in Spain, creator of more than ten works presented in countless theaters with a large audience, she took oriental dance and ethnic dances to their maximum stage expression. Cristiane Azem is a Brazilian of Lebanese origin and is based in Madrid, where she runs her dance school, an artistic center of reference in teaching and creating groups of scenic productions. Graduated in History, she develops research in various areas of dance and culture. Recently, she was awarded by the International Press Association as a prominent figure in the international cultural sphere. Cristiane Azem imbues all her workshops with magic and leaves a profound legacy for her students in the way they feel and experience dance.

Mohamed El Sayed

Master, dancer and percussionist. Born in Cairo and raised in the heart of the vibrant oriental music and dance scene. With years of experience and training under the tutelage of legendary masters such as Shokry Mohamed and Khamis Henkesh. From performing in Latin America to touring Europe, Mohamed has made his mark on world-renowned stages, including Madrid’s prestigious Teatro Real and in front of the distinguished Royal Family. Mohamed has enchanted audiences around the world with his unique talent and unparalleled style.

Vanessa Azevedo

She is the winner of the DIVA Category in our last edition. Oriental dancer, with more than 10 years of career and awards in national and international competitions. Organizes the Aaminah Convention, an event dedicated to teaching Oriental Dance and presenting the work developed with its students.

Hector El Turko

Drummer, multi-instrumentalist percussionist and composer. Born in Spain with gypsy origins, he began playing on his own at the age of ten. Within the wide variety of musical styles that he covers in his career, his current specialty is Arabic and shamanic percussion, two styles in which he mainly develops his compositions, both personal and in collaborations with great artists, thus participating in a multitude of projects.
